IN.TECH S.p.A., a company that specializes in innovative, flexible and sustainable sports facilities, has won an international concept competition for a new stadium for the Italian Open tennis championships with FLEX ARENA, on behalf of CONI, with the design of the full technical system and its installation along with a ten-year management and maintenance plan.
Built with innovative and environmentally friendly materials, FLEX ARENA allows for the re-conception of commercial areas to serve their users, creating new, modern spaces in line with the most important advances on the world stage.
Designed with the principles of maximum flexibility in mind, the new structure offers multipurpose functionality for various sports, including tennis, basketball, volleyball and beach volleyball.
The design’s flexibility means extreme versatility to meet diverse needs, anywhere in the country, with multiple configurations.
This highly innovative structure, the work of In.tech’s internal design studio, was inaugurated at the 2019 Italian Open.
The futuristic and aesthetically impressive design, based on cutting-edge architecture, launched the Italian tennis circuit to international prominence.
FLEX ARENA is a state-of-the-art, semi-temporary multipurpose facility. With a capacity of approximately 7,000 spectators, it can be configured to accommodate a sports field or a stage for high-profile concerts during the summer season.
Its modular design focuses on the ability to transform the structure from a sports arena to a concert and event venue. The south stand of the arena can be removed to make room for a multipurpose stage of over 1,200 square meters.
